Happy Hacker BBS II Rules
« on: September 16, 2007, 12:41:13 AM »
This is a totally free site for you to use and enjoy.  These rules are simple, but they are here so that everyone who visits can enjoy themselves equally.

Happy Hacker BBS II Rules:

1.  Happy Hacker BBS II is a privately owned and operated forum.  Anyone is welcome to access this web site and participate, knowing that all rules here must be followed.  Users do not have any implied or lawful right to be here and use this site.  Consider your use here to be by invitation only.

2.  The Administrator, when in that role, is always right.  I'm paying the bills.  Arguing with the Administrator's rules and rulings could lead to suspension of your posting privileges.  The Administrator is also an active participant in message threads.

3.  Everyone has the right to an opinion, and freedom of speech gives you the right to express that opinion. However, while you are visiting 'my home', this forum, freedom of speech ends.  I expect you to be kind, respectful and courteous when expressing that opinion.

4.  Keep the language PG or better, please.

5.  Stay on topic.  Start any thread that you wish, but duplicate threads will be locked from use or deleted.

6.  NO personal attacks of other users.  This will be strictly enforced.  I will deal with 'flame wars', no extra help is necessary.

7.  If you have issue with someone or some topic or message, please contact me or the forum moderator with the issue and I will help to resolve it.

8.  Guests, or unregistered users, are permitted to read all areas of the forum.  Posting privileges will be extended to registered users of the forum only.

9.  Users are welcome to make suggestions for forum categories and enhancements to the forum.

10. The Chat Room, Arcade and Quiz areas are for entertainment purposes only and fall under the same rules and restrictions as the general forum.

The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. A little background about your host.  I grew up in the County and have lived here all of my life.  During the past several years, I have learned a great deal about where I live, and that continues to this day through volunteer efforts that I am involved in.  I have opinions and ideas on how we, all of us, can help make our home a better place to live.  I will be an active participant in discussions, but remember, it is just my opinion.  I will only wear the Administrator hat if needed.

I started this message board to help rekindle the old online BBS that I ran from 1989 to 1995.  The rules then are the same as the rules today.  They really are nothing more than common sense.  If everyone follows them, everyone should have a great visit here and hopefully, make some new friends along the way.

There is a sacred nobility in knowing when to be silent and just listen. ~~ Try being informed instead of just opinionated.
